Jamaica celebrates

It was 30 years ago that the St. James Parish Council, with the blessing of Central Government, named the Square at Cambridge, in the southern part of the parish for Jamaica's youngest elected representative, Councilllor Wilmot Max Ramsay.  This was in December of 1985.  1985 was the United Nation's designated International Year of the Youth (IYY).  The Wilmot Max Ramsay Square turns thirty years old.

The Rt. Hon. Edward P. G. Seaga was Prime Minister, Hon. Bruce Golding was Minister of Construction and Hon. Dr. H. A. Marco Brown, M.P. and Minister of State for Tourism.  Max Ramsay was only 18 years old when elected to office back in 1981.

As Cambridge, Jamaica and our youths celebrate, let us remember the Christ child within Christmas and to let Him adorn our lives.
